How we write career guides

Our guides aim to be useful, specific and honest about their limits. This page explains how they are made.

How content is created

Guides are written to answer a specific question people face at work, such as preparing for an appraisal or making a promotion case. Each one starts from the practical problem, not from a keyword list.

How examples are checked

Examples are illustrations written to show structure, using Context, Action, Impact and Proof. They are not quotes from real users and are not presented as such. Figures inside examples are illustrative unless a source is linked.

How AI may support drafting

AI tools may help with outlines, first drafts or tightening wording. Every published page is read, edited and approved by a person before it goes live.

Human review

Guides are reviewed by Tom West, the founder, for accuracy, clarity and tone. We do not list reviewers or experts who have not actually reviewed the page.

Updates

Pages show the date they were last updated. We revisit guides when product behaviour, pricing or the underlying advice changes.

Commercial content

Look At You Go is our product, and our pages link to it. Where we compare approaches or tools, we describe them on what they actually do and state limitations, including our own.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please tell us through the contact page. We review every correction request and update the page where it is warranted.
